This policy explains how we use information when you browse MedicalPhysicist.co.uk or contact us. You can reach us at hello@medicalphysicist.co.uk.
Information we use
- Messages you send: your name, email address and the information in your message.
- Website and security records: our hosting and security services may record details such as your IP address, browser, pages requested, referring website and the time of your visit.
- Job-link and planner use: we count how often visitors open a job link or download the planner. This stores daily totals, the type of action and a broad category, rather than records identifying individual visitors.

Counting job clicks and downloads
The counting tool stores no IP addresses, browser details, referring pages, browsing histories or visitor and device identifiers. It does not use analytics cookies or browser storage. A request to the website may still appear in the separate hosting and security records described above.
Why we use information
We use information to run and protect the website, reply to messages, understand whether the job links and planner are useful, improve our guides and meet legal obligations.
Our reasons for processing personal information
Where personal information is involved, we normally rely on our legitimate interests in running, protecting and improving the website and responding to enquiries. Depending on the circumstances, we may instead rely on consent, a contract or a legal obligation.
Who may handle information
Providers that support our hosting, security, email and administration may handle information needed for those services. We do not send the daily job-click or planner-download totals to an external analytics provider. If you follow a link to another website, its privacy policy applies there.
Information handled outside the UK
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, an appropriate transfer arrangement or safeguard should be in place.
How long we keep information
Daily job-click and download totals are kept for up to 400 days. We keep contact messages for as long as needed to handle the enquiry or meet a legal requirement. Hosting and security records are kept according to the relevant provider’s retention arrangements.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use, object to its use or receive a portable copy. You can withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To ask about your rights, contact hello@medicalphysicist.co.uk. The daily counting tool has no individual visitor record that we can link back to you.
Automated decisions
We do not use the information described here to make automated decisions about visitors or build profiles of them.
